Artificial Turf Field Design Anne Arundel County, MD
Anne Arundel County decided to upgrade the stadium fields at 11 High Schools to an artificial turf surface. This phased program began in the fall of 2007. AmDyne was contracted to prepare the Request for Proposal, conduct elevation surveys, geotechnical investigation, detailed design, submittal review and provide on-site construction inspection. AmDyne completed all phases of design and construction inspection of the high school fields including site planning, specification development, RFP development, detailed design, submittal review and construction administration.
Secondary Containment Design and Installation Andrews Air Force Base, MD
AmDyne designed and installed secondary containment tanks and ancillary equipment (piping, valves, trench drains) at three (3) gas stations and five (5) other fueling areas such as emergency diesel generators and intermediate fueling locations. The 3 gas stations received surge tanks. These tanks ranged in size from 4,000 gallons to 10,000 gallons. These systems were installed at the Andrews AFB gas stations to capture fuel spilled as a result of any mishap in vehicle fueling operations. AmDyne was responsible for the design and construction of these tank systems including scheduling, procuring specialized, long-lead time items, on-base coordination and logistics, as well as managing on-site construction and installation of these systems.
Machine Shop Facility Design
AmDyne completed all phases of design and construction management of this facility including site planning, structural design, MEP design, machinery layout and submittal reviews for the 50 ft x 140 ft Machine Shop addition. This 7,000 square foot high-bay metal structure was designed to match the existing exterior in height and materials and incorporated a 5-ton bridge crane, fire protection, utility support to machining equipment, mechanical and tool storage rooms.
Design Services for Backflow Prevention Anne Arundel County, MD
AmDyne provided engineering design services for new back flow prevention to the existing fire sprinkler systems at the County’s Riva Road complex. Additionally, reduced pressure backflow preventers on boilers and cooling tower water lines were installed at the Arundel Center. At 3 Harry S. Truman Parkway, AmDyne installed reduced pressure backflow preventers on the boiler’s make up water lines.
AmDyne provided schematic design and construction documents for all three projects. During construction, AmDyne personnel were available for site visits, pre construction meetings, progress meetings and the conditional acceptance meetings.

E-85 Design and Installation Fort Belvoir, VA
Building 1124 Fuel Depot contains an empty 12000 gallon underground storage tank that was installed in November 1986, and is constructed of double-walled steel with corrosion-resistant exterior coating that the government wishes to reuse as an E-85 storage and dispensing vessel. The vessel was tested and certified by the government as clean, tight, and available for re-use. Design phase services included a site and utility survey and civil engineering design for the conversion including brining the site and accessories into compliance with the current specification requirements. AmDyne also provided test pit verifications and Veeder Root conductivity evaluations.
