Earth Day Network’s A Billion Acts of Green® website is designed to prove the idea that real change occurs best when millions of people commit to it with their actions.
With its easy-to-use online registration tool, any individual or organization can register an Act of Green, from Earth Day events and community climate meetings to tree plantings, large-scale light bulb changes and workplace renewable energy retrofits. Simple individual gestures like riding a bike instead of driving and washing laundry in cold water may also be recorded.
Go to http://act.earthday.org/ for more information on how to document your Acts of Green.

AmDyne Corporation Joins Maryland Green Registry
Hanover, MD (February 2011) – AmDyne Corporation (AmDyne) has joined the Maryland Green Registry – a statewide voluntary program to promote and recognize sustainable “greening” efforts by organizations of all types and sizes within the state.
To become a member, AmDyne complete a best practices profile which included our internal environmental efforts in areas such as management and leadership, energy and water conservation and transportation including efficient business travel. Profiles of the Green Registry companies are posted online to demonstrate each member’s environmental commitment.
“Maryland businesses and other organizations already know that even relatively simple steps to reduce our impact on the environment save money and create a healthier workplace,” said Governor Martin O’Malley. “The Maryland Green Registry provides an opportunity for these organizations to share their stories and inspire others to take steps to protect our air and our water, including the Chesapeake Bay.”
“This is an opportunity for AmDyne to demonstrate our dedication to sustainability practices in our daily business operations as well as in the services we provide,” said Christine Johnson, President of AmDyne. “Our membership, along with other leading organizations, will inspire other firms to incorporate similar practices in their business operations.”
As an environmental consulting firm, AmDyne is proud to showcase our environmentally friendly business practices. AmDyne began assisting government clients with pollution prevention in 1995 and has grown to advise our customers on a variety of environmental issues. From remediation and analysis of potential environmental hazards to environmental site assessments, NEPA documents and environmental management systems (EMS) AmDyne works closely with its clients to preserve natural resources and conserve water and energy.
